WASTEWATER PLANT OPERATOR - temporary
Botetourt County is accepting applications for a Temporary Wastewater Plant Operator to work in the operation, maintenance and repair of wastewater treatment plant facilities and other utility facilities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and ordinances. This position is subject to 24- hour on call and may work varied shifts including weekends.
Position Requirements: At least 2 years experience, must hold at minimum Class IV Wastewater Plant Operator license, have a valid Virginia Driver’s License, have and maintain a good driving record. Salary will be based on prior experience and qualifications.

Planning Manager/Zoning Administrator
Botetourt County is accepting applications for a professional with extensive experience in comprehensive planning, developing codes and ordinances, zoning enforcement, policy analysis and supervising planning division staff. This position acts as Secretary to the Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals. Position requires a four (4) year Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in local and regional planning or a related field. Thorough knowledge and experience in land use, housing, natural resource management and community development. Excellent written and verbal communication skills needed to work with citizens, developers, businesses and appointed and elected officials regularly. Starting salary low to mid 40’s DOQ. EMT-BLS / EMT-ALS (Part-Time)
Botetourt County is accepting applications for part-time EMT-BLS and EMT-ALS positions. These positions will report directly to the Department of Emergency Services, but will work closely with volunteer fire & EMS agencies. Duties will focus on the provision of emergency medical care.
Minimum Requirements: 21 years of age, valid Virginia driver’s license with good driving record, current EVOC . Virginia OEMS EMT-B or E (BLS), EMT-I or P (ALS) with verifiable field experience, current CPR, PEPP, PHTLS, and ACLS (ALS) preferred. Residence in or within 1 hour normal driving time of Botetourt County is required. Applicants must be able to pass standard medical exams and practical skills tests. Will be required to perform all physical tasks associated with emergency medical services, and related activities. Salary Range: BLS $11.00/hour; ALS $15.50/hour.

Desktop Support Technician (Part-time)
Results-oriented technical specialist sought to provide Tier 1 desktop support approximately 32 hours per week in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be able to troubleshoot issues with various Windows desktops, understand basic networking, repair computer equipment, printers and copiers. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office suites and email clients. Excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and the ability to accurately document and report problems to technical staff are a must. A+, Network+, Linux+, Active Directory and database programming are a plus. Starting pay up to $14 per hour.

Recreation
The Recreation Department is continually looking for dedicated volunteers to support its various programs and activities. The County utilizes volunteers to support parks and playing fields, coach youth sports teams, and promote its many programs. Additionally, the County works collectively with seven booster clubs in the area made up entirely of volunteers, which support and organize local youth sports leagues. The residents of Botetourt County are very fortunate to be served by an outstanding group of individuals that comprise the county's various volunteer fire departments and volunteer rescue squads. The selfless dedication portrayed by these men and women is truly inspiring and greatly appreciated. However, more enthusiastic volunteers are always in demand.
