2013 Botetourt Sports Complex Schedule Released

Troutville, VA– The Botetourt Sports Complex will host another amazing array of events in its sixth full season of operation.The Sports Complex is slated to host thirty action-packed sporting events with a wide interest level for participants and spectators when it opens in early March. Events range from Botetourt’s own local youth recreational and high school teams, to numerous regional and national championship events. Visitors from over 25 different states are expected to attend this year.
A number of exciting events returns to the Complex in 2013 including the Botetourt Bash Invitational Softball Tournament co-hosted by Lord Botetourt and James River High Schools. Also returning is the popular Women’s College Military Appreciation Benefit Tournament featuring NCAA Division I universities.
Headlining seven new tournaments this year will be the prestigious ASA/USA 18A Girls Fast-Pitch National Championship. Hotels, restaurants, gas stations, and airports will be busier during this week-long event. Whether you are a casual or passionate sports fan there will be excellent opportunities for you at the Botetourt Sports Complex in 2013.
“The 2013 schedule takes another step forward in fulfilling the mission of the Sports Complex. Each of the last six years we have been able to increase the visiting teams’ impact on our local hotels and businesses within the County,” says Jim Farmer, Sports Complex Manager. “Sports-related tourism is big business nationwide and we are very fortunate and well positioned to retain a high percentage of that market in southwest Virginia.”
